The Millennium is a bitter-sweet decade for
The Jacksons. It begins with a performance by all of the brothers at Michael’s 30th anniversary special. The BMI Urban Awards names The Jacksons, Music Icons. But the decade ends in heartache with the passing of Michael on June 25, 2009. A world-captivating memorial service is held at the Staples Centre with Michael being laid to rest in a private family ceremony. R.I.P. Michael.

Channel Four, in the UK, airs the documentary series “The Jacksons are Coming,” featuring the family’s visits to England.

Michael falls victim to cardiac arrest.

Memorial service for Michael is held at Staples Centre.

Michael Jackson 30th anniversary special takes place. Sadly, it’s the last time all the brothers get to perform together.

Limited North American release of “The Jackson 5 In Japan” live album hits stores shelves. Only 5000 copies were pressed.
August 2008
The Triumph and Destiny tour albums are released for the their 30th anniversary. Each new album was launched with two new mixes which have been never before heard.
August 2009
Filming begins for the reality series “The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty.”
October 12th 2009
The single ‘This is it’ is released with Micheal’s voice leading the song and The Jacksons accompanying.
September 3rd 2009
Michael is laid to rest during a private ceremony in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
